The Bad Sleep Well

Plot: Five years after an company executive was driven to suicide by jumping out of the seventh floor of corporate headquarters, his illegitimate son exchanges identity with an old friend in order to marry the handicapped daughter of the corrupt industrialist he holds responsible. Using his position as his father-in-law's personal secretary, he gathers enough evidence to coerce lower echelon members of the corrupt organization to expose their unscrupulous superiors. His task is complicated when he finds himself falling in love with the dishonest executive's daughter. Written by Gabe Taverney (duke1029@aol.com)A very vague adaptation of Shakespeare's Hamlet. This movie certainly has the characters of Hamlet, Horatio, Ophelia and Laertes and a story line of a man whose father has been murdered. However, the usurping king Claudius character is also the character Polonius, father of Ophelia and Laertes. The story frustratingly ends with Ophelia (Hamlets wife) and her brother Laertes rejecting their father, who is allowed to retire comfortably after Hamlet has been killed. Written by Thomas Rice (thomas_rice@kmug.org)Illegitimate son Kôichi Nishi climbs to a high position within a Japanese corporation and marries the crippled daughter of company vice president Iwabuchi, only in order to seek justice for his father's suicide.
